Terms and Conditions
1. We ask that each potential medical transcription student do their research on the career before enrolling in any school or course. Medical transcription can be a great career for many people; however, it is not for everyone. You really need to be self-disciplined and self-motivated with an interest in the healthcare field to be able to succeed in medical transcription.
You must be willing to keep up with any new updates that come out. This can be in the form of doing research from time to time to keep up with current medical terms, prescriptions or other medical information that MTs need to know. This can also include updating your reference books when they are outdated, keeping your credentials up to date, etc.
2. Should you decide to enroll in the MTatHome or MTStat.com medical transcription training course you need to know that we cannot guarantee you a job. While we do offer job assistance with a high success rate, we cannot guarantee employment or certain wage earnings. Each person is different and their success can be factored on their skills, determination, etc. The pay that you may make can depend on many factors such as how fast you type, if you use text expanders or Macros, and how much you are paid per character line.
3. While our course normally takes an average of six to nine months to complete, we do not have a time limit on our course at this time. We do reserve the right to change this time limit to a maximum of 2 or 3 years at any time.
Should you take longer than one year to complete your course for any reason you may need to update some of your books and/or software if we have advanced to newer editions since the time of your enrollment. You would NOT have to enroll again. However, you may have to purchase any new updated material that changed since you enrolled if you take longer than one year to complete your course.
We do not always have updated material to purchase after just one year; however, if you take longer than one year, then there would most likely be a textbook or reference book to update.
If you lose any of your course CDs or Books, there would be a fee to replace those items. If you lose the CD out of the back of your textbook, the entire textbook may have to be purchased as those CDs are not sold separate. The fee for replacing the course CDs can vary and may change over time. At this time if you lose your MT107 or MT105 there will be a $30 replacement fee per CD to replace them. Other CDs prices would vary. It is very important to keep up with your CDs and Books.
If your CD does not work, for some reason, and is not broken or cracked, we will replace it within one month from the time you receive your course. If the CD gets broken or cracked, you would have to purchase a replacement CD. CDs in the back of the textbooks are created by the publishers and cannot be replaced by MTatHome or MTStat.com if they are lost because they come with the book(s).
4. MTatHome or MTStat.com Courses are Non-Transferable to another person. You may not transfer your course to another person for them to enroll in the MTatHome or MTStat.com course without the written permission of MTatHome or MTStat.com. Should MTatHome or MTStat.com agree to allow a transfer of a course; this course must not have had any tests turned in prior to the transfer and a transfer fee of $175.00 would have to be paid before the transfer could be complete. If you are on a payment plan, your payments would have to be completed before the course could be transferred or before the fee could be paid. A course cannot be transferred more than once.
5. It is your responsibility to keep up with your passwords and username to the student area. These are not to be shared with anyone. You should print them and keep them in a safe place. Should you lose your log in and need to request a new one, and it has been over a year since you enrolled; we will require proof of enrollment before we give out the log in or issue a new one.
6. Student Support is available from 9 AM to 9 PM Central Time. We are closed on Sundays. You can call, email or have a live chat with our student support. There may be times that you have to leave a message if we are on other lines or in meetings. However, you will receive a call back within 24 hours or less. Usually, it is only a few hours or less.
If you send in an email and do not get a response within 24 hours, or less it is your responsibility to follow up with MTatHome or MTStat.com by phone to let us know about the issue. This is because sometimes emails can get lost, and if we do not get the email then we are unaware you had a support issue. Please do not hesitate to call us, we want to ensure that your questions are answered, and we do not want you to have to wait. Therefore; should you ever not receive a reply, please call us or visit our Live Chat.
7. All enrollments are final. Please do research before enrolling in any of our course options to make sure it is the right career for you. We have a “refund and no cancellation policy."
If you enroll by the payment plan option, and you decide that you do not want to continue with your course, you will still be liable for your course enrollment. Non-payment of course enrollments can result in collections and/or legal fees. If you do not honor your course enrollment responsibility, you could be liable for the remaining course balance, and any fees that it costs MTatHome or MTStat.com to attempt to collect the debt.
We have the right to suspend access to the student area and withhold the final certificate on students who have a delinquent balance with MTatHome or MTStat.com on payment plan enrollments. Refusal of the course package does not cancel the enrollment or your financial obligation.
If we do decide to let you cancel the payment plan agreement you choose when you enrolled, you would automatically forfeit the down payment. We also would not refund any payments that have already been made. The cancellation of a payment plan enrollment agreement can only be approved by our company. If we do agree to this; you would have to put the cancellation request in writing also acknowledging that you will not be refunded for your down payment or any payments you have already made.
We are a Christian Company and do understand that things can come up that may cause you not to want to take the course anymore. Should this happen, we will do everything we can to help you sell your course if you have not turned in any course work yet. We do not buy back courses.
If for any reason MTatHome or MTStat.com should decide to take back the unopened course, there would be a 15% restocking fee of the price you paid. Normal Shipping and Handling fee would also be deducted from the refund. If this was a payment plan enrollment, you would not be refunded the down payment or any payments that have already been made as mentioned above. If you got free shipping, we would still deduct what our normal shipping rates for the course you enrolled in from the refund price. We base our fees on our "regular enrollment rates" not sale prices.
MTatHome or MTStat.com will not consider taking back any course that has been opened, used or loaded onto your computer. If you have gained access to our student area, we will also not consider giving a refund. By enrolling with MTatHome or MTStat.com you do understand that we have the right to stand by our “refund / no cancellation policy." Any refunds or cancellations that are granted are at the discretion of our company.
All enrollment charges on your credit card will show up as our Bank Merchant ID of W @HA - MTatHome.
All courses are sent signature confirmation and are insured to protect your course materials.
